WEARING YOUR TACTICAL HEARING INSTRUMENT

To insert or remove your Open – Fit TACTICAL HEARING device from your ear, identify the right and left sides by the marking on the tube of the TACTICAL HEARING device.

RED lettering = Right Ear

BLUE lettering = Left Ear

Start by gently inserting the tip into your ear canal. NEVER push so far that it becomes painful as this can severely damage your ear.

Once in place, then wrap the tail inside the outer part of your ear. Then tuck the device itself comfortably inside your ear.

To insert or remove your Quick – Fit or Custom - Fit TACTICAL HEARING device

From your ear, identify the right and left sides by lettering or color of the device. The volume control should always be facing the top of your ear.

RED lettering = Right Ear

BLUE lettering = Left Ear

or

RED device = Right Ear

BLUE device = Left Ear

With the volume control wheel at the top of the TACTICAL HEARING faceplate, hold your forefinger and thumb with the small, tapered end pointing toward your ear.

Gently insert the TACTICAL HEARING device into your ear canal and push into place with your forefinger.

Once the TACTICAL HEARING device is inserted snugly into the ear canal, adjust the volume to the desired level. Remember that turning the volume control wheel toward your face increases the volume. Turning the volume control wheel in the direction toward the back of your head decreases the volume.

While adjusting the volume, if you hear a whistling sound, simply decrease the volume and the whistling should quit. Whistling can also be caused by a less than snug fit. Make sure the TACTICAL HEARING device fits snugly in the ear canal.

USING THE VOLUME CONTROL

To turn on/off and adjust the volume of the TACTICAL HEARING device

  1. Locate the volume control wheel on the faceplate of you TACTICAL HEARING device. Turn on the instrument by turning the volume control wheel. Note that the volume control wheel operates differently for left - and right - ear models.
  2. Place the tip of your finger gently on the volume control wheel and turn it until the desired amplification is reached. When the volume control wheel stops turning, the TACTICAL HEARING device is set at full volume, do not force the volume control wheel beyond this point.
  3. To adjust the volume of your TACTICAL HEARING instrument when wearing it, remember that turning the volume control wheel toward your face increases the volume. Turning the volume control wheel in the direction toward the back of your head decreases the volume.
  4. To turn off the TACTICAL HEARING device, turn the volume control away from your face to decrease the volume until the wheel stops turning. Do not force the volume wheel beyond this point.

CAUTION: If you do not have a snug fit, the instrument may not provide the necessary protection from damaging sounds.

After you have the TACTICAL HEARING device correctly situated, adjust the listening mode setting by gently pushing the button. You will hear 1 to 4 beeps which is correspondent to the setting number.

TACTICAL HEARING device settings are as follows:

1 = Premium hearing enhancement (maximum gain)

2 = Shooting mode, loud surroundings

3 = Hunting mode, hearing enhancement and protection

4 = Maximum hearing protection, automatic weapon (Ultra HD device) loud concerts, noisy work, restaurants, background noise etc.

In the Ultima and the Ultra HD models the #4 setting is your noise reduction setting. This setting automatically brings background noise down 13dB in the Ultima and 17dB in the Ultra HD.

Regardless of the setting you’re on; your TACTICAL HEARING devise will instantly detect sounds at 90dB in a fraction of a second. The compression circuit will then bring those sounds down 30 – 35 dB giving you superior hearing protection.
